A glimpse into the life of a Mormon missionary (Elder Creer) as he serves a two year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He began serving in the Utah Salt Lake City Mission- Spanish speaking. On July 1, 2012, he was transferred to a new mission- the Utah Salt Lake City West Mission.

The Lord can change someone’s heart so fast...

Hola Familia!
So this week’s letter is going to be super short because we were in a meeting with President almost all of our p-day so we don't have very much time left so sorry. But things are going well here!!  We have 3 people right now that are preparing to get baptized...2 of them are for October and one of them is for November so that should be exciting!
So this week we got to eat lunch and meet Elder Clark as you know..I bet you were super surprised when he called you haha..Also this week we had a meeting with Elder Crittition from the area 70.  Crazy how much interaction we are getting with General Authorities lately!!  I am bringing my notebook everywhere with me so that I can try an learn as much as possible from all these brethren.
There are also a lot of people from our YSA (Young Single Adult) Wards that are preparing to serve missions now because of the new age rule so that will be great for what is going to happen.  Do you know of anyone else who is getting ready to go out or that are turning in their papers?
We had a pretty cool experience with one of the people that are getting ready to get baptized.  She is 18 years old. All of her family is Catholic so she was super scared about how she was going to tell her parents that she was going to be Mormon now.  We had a lesson at Temple Square and the Spirit was super strong as we were talking about how this church is the only one that has the authority of God.  And as it says in Mosiah 18:17 we have to be baptized by the power and authority of God to be added to His church so we invited her to be baptized when the Spirit was strongest and she said yes.  I don't know exactly what she told her family but when we went to see how she was doing the next day to our surprise the mom was super excited that she was getting baptized and all of their family that lives in California are going to come to it as well...also her mom is now interested in getting baptized and she gave us referrals for all of her family that live in Columbia. Kinda crazy how the Lord can change someone’s heart so fast and you never know when someone is now ready to come unto Christ.
It reminds me of the conference talk about how men can change.
Just as the movie "Angels In The Outfield" always says..."It can happen"...as we have the attitude with all those people that we care about the Lord will be able to use us as instruments in His hands to bring them to the truth.  That is why it is so important that we are doing everything we can to have the Spirit with us so we don't miss out on opportunities.  You never know in the long run whose live you will affect so it will be cool to one day know exactly how everything came into play.  Well I gotta run but hope all is going great for you. Love ya!

"When life gets too hard to stand, kneel"...

Hola Familia!
So to start off, last night we had the best dinner of my life haha.  We are eating with the Polynesian Ward this week and we got to go to a huge BBQ last night and it tasted suuuuper good.  It was like being on the island again haha.  We had chicken like they have a Kahuku Grill!
The area is struggling still.  We lost 4 of our wards this last transfer and that is where all of our work has been.  Then yesterday with the work that we still had in one of wards we lost because they re-did the boundaries for the wards and the other companionship got that area as well. So we are on the struggle bus right now haha.  But we were able to have 2 really good Temple Square lessons this weekend which was really nice!

I am also excited to be able to speak Spanish again with Elder Dreiling because mine is getting worse and worse. We are teaching a couple Spanish speaking people right now so that is fun.  In one of our wards they have a goal to get a Sunday School class in Spanish up and running so that will be fun to accomplish that!  And yes- we get to go to Conference if we have tickets or if we are taking any people we are teaching. The problem we are having now is that we don't have any Conference tickets... :( but we are hoping we get some between now and Saturday haha. But I am super excited for Conference because we can always learn new things that can apply and help us with what is going on in our lives right now. So before you watch conference this time write some questions down that you have so that you can receive some revelation during that time. Also reverence invites revelation so make sure that you are reverent when you are watching it.  Hope you have some great experiences and learn lots!!

He is still wearing my stuff......unbelievable...

Hola Familia!
So I don't have tons of time today because we had two new visa waiters come in this morning and we just got done getting everything settled in with them and trained so we are just beginning p-day now and we have a lot of things that we need to get done today.  Conference was super legit!  I thought that it was crazy about the age change with the missionaries.

My favorite session was Sunday morning’s...We were waiting for one of our investigators who was on his way to the session and we didn't have any tickets for that session so we were just going to watch it in the North Visitors Center.  We didn't have any phone service while we were sitting in the theater room so we had to go upstairs to get service on my phone so that I could know when our investigator and the member that was bringing him were going to get there.  While waiting up there I saw Bry of course.  It was super cool to see him and I found that he is still wearing my stuff......unbelievable...lol.....Bry- you better keep that tie in good condition because I am going to want to wear that when I come home!  If you notice in the picture that his tie and my tie match...and as always my matching pen ha.

My favorite talk from conference would have to be Jefferey R. Holland.  He's like the Kobe Bryant of the apostles for me haha.  I just remember being literally filled with the Spirit when he was talking from my head to my toes.   So it was cool because it always says that in the scriptures about being filled with the Spirit and I was literally filled with the Spirit so it was legit.

Our investigators that we brought had great experiences at conference and really felt the Spirit strong.  For one of the sessions we got tickets from the mission for the 3rd row on the very bottom and we had and investigator and a returning member coming so Elder Dreiling and I gave our tickets to them and they went with Elder McNees into the session and we went to the Visitors Center again.  They ended up having a great experience and I was so glad that gave up my ticket to let them go inside.  "First observe, then serve" right! It might seem like a small act of service to give up a ticket but I think that it meant a lot to them so it is all worth it.  I loved when Jeffrey R. Holland was reminding us of that question about if we love Jesus Christ and at the judgment God will ask us the same.  It just blew my mind haha...I think that we always need to make decisions based on this question.  Is whatever we are doing helping us become closer to the Savior?  Can God and Jesus Christ see our love for Them by our actions?  Something that I have been thinking about and conference was amazing!

Well I’ve got to get going but hope all of you had great conference experiences as well!
Love Ya!
