A glimpse into the life of a Mormon missionary (Elder Creer) as he serves a two year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He began serving in the Utah Salt Lake City Mission- Spanish speaking. On July 1, 2012, he was transferred to a new mission- the Utah Salt Lake City West Mission.

A shout out to Grandpa L for today! (Memorial Day)

Hola Familia!
How is everything going? Things here are going good here! Our area is starting to do a little better. We are praying and expecting miracles.
Elder Biggs has been asking me this week how to have a lot of success and how to be that instrument in the hands of the Lord to baptize and reactivate people. I just told him that we really don't do much. We are just the tool. It doesn't matter what the tool looks like or how good it is, with the help of the Lord it can do wonders. There is a little Mormon clip called "The Master’s Hand" that illustrates that pretty well. I told him of the promise in D & C 82:10. If we are obedient then we will be bound to be blessed by the Lord. I think that is a good principle that we all can apply to our daily lives! No matter how insufficient we may seem in our jobs, homes or in the church, if we are doing our best to do what the Lord has commanded us to do then he will be bound to bless us!
I think it has been so interesting to be able to have had the opportunity to come to this mission and see and teach so many people that were once in the church and now are not. They all say that they noticed a huge difference when they were active and when they weren't. The Spirit is the greatest blessing that anyone can have and when we are not doing what God wants us to do (in their cases not coming to church) then we won't be able to have the Sily lives! No matter how insuffourney of finding a home in St  George:pirit with us. That is so key! I would never want to live a day in my life without the comfort alone that the Spirit brings. Then you add on all the guidance that it gives you in the big decisions but also the everyday lives - it's just crazy. Something that we have been doing is helping people realize that when they are feeling the Spirit they know the Atonement is working in their lives. There is a quote by Elder Eyring that says that.
Obviously each one of us needs the Atonement in our lives but I have seen that many do not grasp that when they are feeling the Spirit they are feeling the effect of the Atonement. Also in 3 Nephi the people say that they prayed for what they wanted most (to have Holy Ghost) so obviously if we do our part to help people understand the importance of the Holy Ghost they will want to act and that is why people decide to get baptized or come back to church...good stuff! Well this next week will be pretty crazy as you know and then next Monday is my birthday!! Hope all is going good there and give a shout out to Grandpa L for today!(Memorial Day) Tell him thanks! Hope you all have a good day and stay sweet..

Got 2 years to serve, and my whole life to remember how I served!

Hola Familial!
So I officially only have 6 weeks left! Crazy huh? I will be staying with Elder Biggs here in this Spanish branch so hopefully we can get it up and running before I get home! Things have been hard this past week. One of the elders that we live with was sick this past week so I had to stay home with him for 3 nights this week so that was kind of a bummer. Things in the area are still pretty slow but we should have things going a bit better here this week. Sometimes it is completely exhausting mentally but we just keep going.
All in all things are going pretty good here. I know I only have 1 transfer left so it is getting just a tad bit more real that I will be going home soon. It still doesn't feel completely real that it will all be over soon but all I know is that I will work my heart out for the next 6 weeks! Got 2 years to serve, and my whole life to remember how I served! I haven't sent any pics home in forever but maybe you will get lucky sometime and get some haha, maybe not but you can always hope right! :) That’s it. haha well I’ve got to get going but I will have something exciting to tell ya next week! Stay sweet.

Do everything the Lord asks of me until He calls me home...

Hola Familia!
Things here are going good.  Elder Menendez came out with us on Saturday so that we could go and visit people he used to teach when he was in this area and it went really well.  He took us out to eat at In n Out Burger and then the very first house we went to was having a lil party inside and they gave us pupusas and this dessert thing so we were all super full.  Then a couple hours after that we went to dinner and the family cooked so much and we felt completely sick when we were leaving the house haha.  But him coming out with us was very helpful and we have lots of referrals that we can go and see now so hopefully we can get this area booming before I head out.
We had a really cool lesson with this guy this past week. The week before we were walking down the street on the way to an appointment and there were a bunch o people in a trailer park that waved at us but we were on the way to an appointment so we just kept walking but we felt like we should turn around and so we did and we started talking to him and he was super nice and we set up an appointment for this past Saturday. So when we got there he wasn't there but later that night our other plans fell through so we went back to his house to see if he was home and he was. Long story short is that he has been to church many times and even got tickets to General Conference when President Hinckley was the prophet so he said that he also has been down to Temple Square like 8 or 10 times and feels the Spirit super strong every time that he goes. So we had a lesson with him and invited him to be baptized and he said that he would if he knew that they were true. The thing is -that he is going to Mexico this week for 2 weeks and will be getting back on my b-day. He told me that he wanted to learn as much as possible when he gets back so we should have him ready to be baptized here in about a month or 2.
Things overall are going good. It is crazy how fast the time is going! I only have 7 weeks left! The work is going good though. I never think about coming home because we always make missionary work fun here. I am grateful for the opportunity to be serving and I will enjoy every minute of it! This Samoan girl came to our Spanish ward this past week and sang a song because one of her Spanish friends is leaving on the mish here in a week and I think she wrote it but anyways it said "I will go, I will do, all the things the Lord asks of me, until He calls me home" or something like that but she was fun to listen to because her voice was really good but I remember when she sang that part I thought to myself that I was going to go, and do everything the Lord asks of me until He calls me home! I know that is what He wants! So nothing is going to stop me these next 7 weeks from serving with all of my heart and leaving no regrets!! Love you all.
Siempre Cree,
Elder creer
