Hola Familia!
Things here are going good. Elder Menendez came out with us on Saturday so that we could go
and visit people he used to teach when he was in this area and it went really
well. He took us out to eat at In n Out Burger and then the very first
house we went to was having a lil party inside and they gave us pupusas and
this dessert thing so we were all super full.
Then a couple hours after that we went to dinner and the family cooked so much
and we felt completely sick when we were leaving the house haha. But him coming out with us was very helpful and we have lots
of referrals that we can go and see now so hopefully we can get this area
booming before I head out.
We had a really cool lesson with
this guy this past week. The week before we were walking down the street on the
way to an appointment and there were a bunch o people in a trailer park that
waved at us but we were on the way to an appointment so we just kept walking
but we felt like we should turn around and so we did and we started talking to
him and he was super nice and we set up an appointment for this past Saturday.
So when we got there he wasn't there but later that night our other plans fell
through so we went back to his house to see if he was home and he was. Long
story short is that he has been to church many times and even got tickets to General
Conference when President Hinckley was the prophet so he said that he also has
been down to Temple Square like 8 or 10 times and feels the Spirit super strong
every time that he goes. So we had a lesson with him and invited him to be
baptized and he said that he would if he knew that they were true. The thing is
-that he is going to Mexico this week for 2 weeks and will be getting back on
my b-day. He told me that he wanted to learn as much as possible when he gets
back so we should have him ready to be baptized here in about a month or 2.
Things overall are going good. It is
crazy how fast the time is going! I only have 7 weeks left! The work is going
good though. I never think about coming home because we always make missionary
work fun here. I am grateful for the opportunity to be serving and I will enjoy
every minute of it! This Samoan girl came to our Spanish ward this past week
and sang a song because one of her Spanish friends is leaving on the mish here
in a week and I think she wrote it but anyways it said "I will go, I will
do, all the things the Lord asks of me, until He calls me home" or
something like that but she was fun to listen to because her voice was really
good but I remember when she sang that part I thought to myself that I was
going to go, and do everything the Lord asks of me until He calls me home! I
know that is what He wants! So nothing is going to stop me these next 7 weeks
from serving with all of my heart and leaving no regrets!! Love you all.
Siempre Cree,
Elder creer
